Here’s how to create marbled wax melts tablets. First, make sure you have all the necessary ingredients and equipment at hand.
Here's what you'll need:
Special rapeseed wax for wax melts and molded candles
Liquid colorants of your choice
A tablet-shaped mold for wax melts
A pouring spout to facilitate wax pouring
Discover different methods to create beautiful scented wax melts with a marbled effect. Here are the detailed steps you can follow:
PREPARATION OF SCENTED WAX
Start by heating the rapeseed wax in a double boiler until it reaches a temperature of about 80°C. Be sure to monitor the temperature carefully to avoid overheating the wax.
Once the wax has reached this temperature, remove it from the double boiler and let it cool to around 70°C. At this stage, add 10% fragrance to the melted wax and mix well.
Now that your wax is ready, let’s move on to the different techniques to create the marbled effect!
1st TECHNIQUE
In this first technique, you will use drops of liquid colorants to create a subtle marbled pattern.
Begin by gently placing small drops of liquid colorants directly onto the tablet-shaped mold. About three drops should suffice for each color.
Next, pour the melted wax, maintained at a temperature of around 70°C, onto the mold in a back-and-forth motion. These movements will help evenly distribute the drops of colorants on the wax surface, creating a delicate marbled effect.
2nd TECHNIQUE
In this second technique, you will use a pouring spout to pour the melted wax over the drops of colorants, creating more pronounced marbled patterns.
Start by pouring the melted wax into the pouring spout. Before pouring the wax into the mold, add a few drops of liquid colorants directly onto the pouring spout.
Now, pour the colored wax into the mold, allowing it to flow over the drops of colorants. This interaction between the wax and liquid colorants will create beautiful marbling in the wax melts.
3rd TECHNIQUE
The third technique requires the use of a small pick, such as a skewer.
First, place three small drops of liquid colorants on the skewer.
Next, hold the skewer between the mold and the pouring spout containing the melted wax.
Then, pour the wax into the mold, allowing it to flow over the skewer. As the wax flows, it mixes with the drops of colorants, creating stunning marbled patterns.
Once you’ve used one of these techniques to achieve the desired marbled effect, it’s time to let the wax melts rest for about 2 to 3 hours. This will allow the wax to harden and take its final shape.
Finally, carefully remove your beautiful marbled wax melts from the mold.
Don't forget to unleash your creativity by experimenting with different combinations of colors and fragrances. Let your imagination inspire you to create unique marbled wax melts tablets!
