How to Make Wax Crumbles

19/02/2024
We previously explained in a blog post how to create wax whipped cream to make your candles true treats (not edible, of course). Today, we’re going to show you how to make your candles even more delicious with… wax crumbles!
Making wax crumbles is incredibly simple!
You will need the following materials:
You can use different types of wax to make wax crumbles, and we recommend:
Soy wax for container candles for a greasier texture
Rapeseed wax for molded candles for a drier texture
For this tutorial, we will use rapeseed wax for molded candles. This wax has a high melting point, so it will dry fairly quickly.
For a “cake” effect, we recommend using our terracotta grain colorant.
Here are the steps:
Prepare your wax with your chosen colorant and fragrance. Once your mixture is ready and well-mixed, you can pour it thinly onto your stainless steel sheet.
The wax will crystallize and can be worked on after about 30 minutes; this time may vary depending on the room temperature.
Once the wax is completely dry, use your soap cutter (or dough cutter) to remove the wax from the sheet. This first step will create large pieces of wax. You will then continue to work these pieces of wax with your cutter, cutting them into smaller pieces. Repeat this process until you achieve the desired result for your candle crumbles.
Your wax crumbles are ready! All that’s left is to incorporate them into your candles!
Happy crafting!
