How to Make Creamy Wax Melts

22/02/2024
You’re familiar with scented wax melts, but have you heard of creamy wax melts? Unlike traditional scented wax melts, creamy wax melts can be scooped out using a small spoon or spatula, allowing you to use just the amount you desire in your burner. Creamy wax melts also have the advantage of offering a more powerful fragrance diffusion!
To make creamy wax melts, you'll need:
Soy wax for melts and molded candles
Deodorized coconut oil
Fragrance oil
The exact ratios will depend on the texture you want to achieve. To start, we can recommend the following proportions: 50% soy wax, 40% coconut oil, and 10% fragrance oil.
Here's how to make them:
Weigh your soy wax and coconut oil, then melt them together using a double boiler. When everything is thoroughly melted and has reached a temperature of around 70°C (160°F), remove it from the double boiler.
When your mixture has cooled to 55°C (130°F), you can add your fragrance oil and mix it in thoroughly.
Now, slowly pour your wax into the container you’ve chosen (preferably one with a lid).
Creamy wax melts take longer to solidify than traditional wax melts or candles. We recommend letting them solidify for 2 to 4 hours, and then waiting for 72 hours to 1 week before using your creation.
Enjoy your crafting!
