Creating Scented Wax Melts for Your Home

16/02/2024
Scented wax melts come in the form of small tarts, lovely shapes, or tablets, and they are perfect for infusing a delightful fragrance into your home using a burner and a tealight candle. Unlike a candle, when you melt a wax melt, the flame is not in direct contact with the scented wax, allowing the fragrance to diffuse more intensely in your room.
For this tutorial, you'll need the following equipment:
1 mold
1 container with a pouring spout
1 spatula
1 saucepan
1 scale
1 heat gun
You’ll also need scented wax for wax melts and the fragrance of your choice.
Follow these steps:
PREPARING THE SCENTED WAX
Start by weighing the amount of wax needed for your wax melts.
Gently melt the wax using a double boiler.
Once the wax is melted, remove it from the double boiler and add the fragrance when the wax’s temperature is below the fragrance’s flashpoint.
POURING THE WAX
Your scented wax is ready; heat your mold using the heat gun to ensure a smooth and uniform surface during demolding.
Pour the melted wax into the cavities of your mold using the pouring spout.
DRYING AND DEMOLDING THE WAX MELTS
Allow the wax melts to rest for at least 2 hours, or even overnight, to allow them to fully crystallize.
Once they are ready, gently demold them by applying slight pressure to avoid damaging them.
Tip: If you’re new to making scented wax melts, start with a mold with simple and easy-to-demold shapes.
Now you know how to create scented wax melts to fill your living space with a delightful fragrance. Enjoy your creations!
